When Adidas was looking for a material for the sole of their Boost running shoes, they wanted something that would stand up. A material that had unprecedented high energy return with excellent tensile and flexural qualities.

They chose BASF’s Infinergy, a product we’re incredibly proud of.

With great performance, easy processing and more applications planned, the industry took notice. BASF was nominated for a 2014 Polyurethane Innovation Award. And we are very happy to announce we have been selected as one of the three finalists.

Infinergy was selected by a panel of judges, all experts in polyurethane chemistry and supply chain who were selected by the Center for Polyurethanes Industry (CPI). The CPI, which is part of the American Chemistry Council, works to elevate the profile of polyurethanes industry and advocate for science-based research, industry commitment to environmental sustainability, health and safety as well as education.

Through the Polyurethanes Innovation Award, the CPI is able to highlight the role that innovation plays in polyurethanes industry. The award also helps to recognize companies and individuals doing great work advancing the polyurethanes industry.
