Non-toxic, absorbent hydrogels
Though known for many high-strength applications, polyurethane can also be made into a very soft gel. In the medical industry, polyurethane-based gels, or hydrogels, are used in wound and burn dressings, surgical adhesives, contact lenses and medical implants.
Hydrogels offer a distinct advantage, thanks to their flexible, hydrophilic, non-toxic and absorbent properties.
