Flame-retardant resins for switchgear panels
Plastics used to make instrument panels and accessories for switchgears have to reduce fire risk in the event of an electrical defect or exposure to external sources of ignition. Because panels are exterior components, materials must also meet design requirements e.g. for surface quality, haptics, and colors.
That's why manufacturers often use Ultramid® B3UG4; it displays flame-retardant properties with good mechanical strength, excellent stiffness and toughness, and low warpage during processing. Ultramid also meet aesthetic requirements.
